i really have no idea what this has to do with survival skills

Actually she has identifying which plants and berries are poisonous. She was quizzing herself. It’s foreshadowing because she later dies from eating poisonous berries; in the book, it’s seen as a foolish mistake, but because of this scene, it has implications of suicide.

Holy shit

Well the Hunger Games just became even more devastating than it already was.

I always did wonder why the ‘smartest’ one died from something she should have known about… This makes a lot more sense now.

Legit just got a chill throughout my body…

Who wants to play a game called Spot the Asshole?

I’d reblog this on my other blog but people need to learn about this if they work in fast food and I have a lot of followers on my main blog.
DON’T FUCKING DO THIS, YOU CAN KILL SOMEONE WITH THIS.

seriously though, i’ve heard stories of people giving “skinny” people regular soda instead of diet… newsflash: high blood sugars make you lose weight. a skinny persom that asks for diet soda could very well be diabetic… and then if you give them regular soda, you could cause some serious damage, even comas or death. i don’t care how you feel towards a customer, GIVE THEM THE DRINK THEY ASKED FOR.

There is a coffee place near my home and they happens to serve sugar-free hot chocolate being a type one diabetic this is great because it has about half the amount of carbs. This one time I ordered it the employee rolled his eyes at me. When I got my drink I thought it tasted differently but I was with friends and wasn’t paying a ton of attention. Later my blood sugar was in the high 400s and we had no idea why, everything was in order. I had to stay up all night to get my blood sugars under control.  I thought of the employee might have something to do with it. The next day I went back and the same guy was working, my mom confronted him and the manager and the guy admitted that he had given me a regular hot coco and had even put extra sugar in it. He tried to justify his actions because ” how was he supposed to know I was diabetic” and ”I thought just thought she was some chick trying to lose weight that she didn’t need to lose” He lost his job and I never went back there.  But it put be in danger and if I hadn’t caught the high when I did I could of ended up in the hospital.

Something like that hot cocoa thing is ridiculously dangerous. With soda the taste is such a drastic difference that while it is still dangerous you have a much better chance of immediately realizing something is wrong.

Hey, I’m all for not doing this to “skinny” people. But if you’ve got the gaul to be rude and a total asshole to those serving you food? You probably deserve to get sick from it. It’s called Karma.

^^^NO. That is being an irresponsible employee and a disgusting person who deserves to be fired. You do not ever mess with somebody’s health.

As someone who has a degree in culinary arts and has worked extensively in customer service, this absolutely appalls me.
Your job in the food industry, especially when you’re working directly with the customers and making their food (like a barista) is to provide excellent service with a goddamned smile or a pleasant attitude. It’s your responsibility to make sure you provide them with their order no matter how rude they are.
And yeah, people can be complete assholes to people in customer service. But it’s not an excuse to fuck with their food.
You don’t know about their dietary restrictions, you don’t know if they have an allergy, diabetes, etc. When you fuck around with people’s food, you can do serious harm to their body. There’s no excuse for messing with someone’s order. Ever. You go the fucking extra mile to make sure their food is prepared safely, because you can be damn sure you’ll lose your job if you do this. And if you get the health department involved? Good fucking luck to you, because you’ll need it.

The best way to get back at people being rude is to kill them with kindness. You have no idea what anybody’s life is like. Maybe they were having a bad day. You have no idea. Just smile and be polite.

Would you add nuts to something that somebody ordered if they asked for it without? What if they’re highly allergic? You could KILL somebody by pulling shit like this. I’m a diabetic and I always ask for diet and I’ve gotten a few looks if I was ordering it along with a fatty meal (as if I’m trying to lose weight and balance out the bad with diet or something) like hey don’t judge me for what I order first of all; second I’m fucking diabetic and don’t really have a choice. High sugars can cause a diabetic’s kidneys to shut down, blindness, and loss of circulation in the limbs which can lead to fucking AMPUTATION. Is getting back at somebody for being rude really worth ruining their lives and yours?

I have a scrawny friend who’s diabetic. Anyone pulls a jackass stunt like this and I’ll OBLITERATE YOU.
